CPC certificate

Certification means the issuance of a written children's product certificate (CPC) in which the manufacturer or importer certifies that its children's product complies with all applicable child product safety rules (or similar rules, prohibitions, standards or any law enforced by the Committee) for that product. The certification of children's products must be based on the passing test results of the third-party test. The third-party testing laboratory provides testing services and results. The importer must issue CPC for products manufactured overseas, while the American manufacturer must issue CPC for domestic products. CPC must "accompany" product shipments and "ship" to distributors and retailers. Upon request, CPC must be provided to CPSC and customs chief.

Information requirements to be included in CPC certificate:

1. Product information

2. All applicable laws and regulations

3. Information of the importer or manufacturer (in the United States): including name, address and telephone number

4. Contact information of the holder of the test results file supporting the certificate: name, address, email address and telephone number. (usually understood as a manufacturer outside the United States)

5. Production date and address of the product. The production date must be to mm / DD / YY, and the address must be to the city;

6. Test report based on test time and address or certificate

7. Information of the third party testing organization (laboratory recognized by CPSC): name, address and contact number;

Sec.102 force third party detection

Federal law requires manufacturers and importers to test many consumer products to demonstrate compliance with consumer product safety requirements.

Based on the results of the compliance test, the manufacturer or importer must certify in writing or by electronic certificate that the consumer goods meet the applicable consumer goods safety requirements.

The certificate must accompany the product or shipment, and copies must be provided to retailers, distributors, and governments.

The consumer products mentioned here include children's certificate (CPC certificate) and non children's product (GCC certificate) (general product).

*Since CPSIA became a federal law of the United States on August 14, 2008, it has strictly defined the limits of toxic and harmful substances in children's products and toys. That is to say, CPSIA will come into force after being signed by the president of the United States. Let the CPSC better regulate and sell the safety of imported products in CPSIA, and also include regulations to make the products of manufacturers and importers less than 12 years old safer. The purpose is to require the products of manufacturers and importers to show that these products have no harmful lead and phthalate levels. Now, before entering the U.S. market, all related products must pass the inspection of the third-party inspection organization recognized by CPSC, otherwise, they will face huge fines and lead to export interruption.
